What is a Zone?
A Zone is a defined geographical area used to organize delivery regions within your logistics system. Zones help structure shipping rules, set delivery times, and group related cities or districts under a single name for easier management.
Why Use Zones?
Zones allow you to:
- Group nearby cities or districts together.
- Define expected delivery times for each zone.
- Apply delivery policies or special pricing based on the zone.
- Simplify operational planning for couriers and distribution teams.
Example
Suppose your company delivers across Greater Cairo. You can create a zone called "Cairo Governorate", and within this zone you can assign the following cities:
- Nasr City
- Maadi
- Heliopolis
- Mokattam
- El Ma’sara
- Shubra
- Downtown
Then you can set the delivery duration for this zone to be, for example, 1 working day.
Additional Examples
| Zone Name | Included Cities | Delivery Time |
|---|---|---|
| Alexandria Zone | Smouha, Stanley, Sidi Gaber, San Stefano | 1 day |
| Delta Zone | Tanta, Mahalla, Mansoura, Kafr El-Sheikh | 2 days |
| Upper Egypt Zone | Minya, Assiut, Sohag | 3 days |
By organizing service areas into zones, your operations become more scalable, easier to track, and more flexible to customize.
